African Canadian Legal Clinic

  The African Canadian Legal Clinic (ACLC) is a not-for-profit organization based in Toronto, funded by Legal Aid Ontario and its main purpose is to take litigation in the areas of anti-black racism and racial discrimination in Canadian society. This organization was established in October 1994.

The African Canadian Legal Clinic also acts as a advocacy agency and a resource center for organizations and individuals handling with racial discrimination. The clinic has an executive director, policy research lawyer, staff lawyer, director of legal services and other members.

The African Canadian Legal Clinic offers guidance and defends African Canadians in all legal forums, especially in the race-based test cases. The clinic deals with lots of issues including:
- Applying a judicial proceeding strategy based on the test cases
- Employing in protagonism on the part of African Canadians
- Offering legal education proposed at getting rid of racism in Canada.
- Setting up law reform by supervising legislative changes, judicial, regulatory and administrative developments.
