Aboriginal Legal Services Of Toronto

  Aboriginal Legal Services of Toronto (ALST) was set up on February 21, 1990. Native Canadian Centre of Toronto made needs assessment in mid 1980s and ALST was formed based on the needs. ALST has been involved in legal related programs for the indigenous Aboriginal people in Toronto.

ALST main propose is to strengthen the capability of the citizens of Aboriginal community to handle with legal issues and offer Aboriginal kept with in certain bounds and culturally based legal alternatives. They try to make a community that deals with legal issues in a respectful, assertive and constructive way.

Kimberly Murray is the Executive director of Aboriginal Legal Services of Toronto and he has been awarded a Community Leadership in Justice Fellowship with the Law Foundation of Ontario and Ryerson University join to gather.
